Ingredients

  • 1 pound Brussel Sprouts
  • ½ teaspoon Salt
  • ½ teaspoon Pepper
  • 1 pound Bacon
  • ½ cup Brown Sugar

Instructions

  • Soak toothpicks in water for a few hours before using them to keep them from burning on the grill.
  • Preheat the grill over medium heat (approximately 300 degrees Fahrenheit).
  • Cut the ends off of the Brussel sprouts, remove any yellowing leaves from the Brussel sprouts and season them with salt and pepper.
  • Cut the bacon in half. Wrap each brussel sprout with a piece of the bacon and secure it to the brussel sprout with a soaked toothpick.
  • Place the brown sugar in a small shallow bowl and dip each of the wrapped brussel sprouts in the brown sugar making sure to cover all the sides of the brussel sprouts.
  • Then place the brussel sprouts on the grill over indirect heat.  Cover the grill and cook for 45-60 minutes.
  • Rotate the brussel sprouts every 10-15 minutes to keep them from burning and continue to cook until the bacon is crispy and the brussel sprouts are tender.
  • Remove the brussel sprouts from the grill.  Let them cool slightly and then they are ready to serve and enjoy!

Notes

These are best served fresh but you can refrigerate the leftovers in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
