Ingredients

  • 2 pounds Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts or Thighs
  • 2 Tablespoon Avocado Oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Paprika
  • 1/2 cup BBQ Sauce

Instructions

  • Preheat a Blackstone Grill (or griddle) over medium high heat.
  • Mix the seasonings (salt, pepper, garlic powder and paprika) together in a small bowl.
  • Season both sides of the chicken breasts or thighs from this seasoning mixture.
  • Spread the oil out onto the grill in a thin layer.
  • Add the chicken to the grill. Let the chicken sit for 5-6 minutes until the one side of the chicken is seared and browned.
  • Flip the chicken and cook the other side for 5-6 more minutes until browned and the chicken is cooked through (internal temperature of 165 degrees F).
  • Brush both sides of the chicken with the BBQ sauce and cook each side for about a minute to heat it through.
  • Remove from the grill. Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes. Then it's ready to serve and enjoy!

Notes

Helpful Tips
  • Use Meat Thermometer - I use an instant read meat thermometer to make sure that the chicken is cooked through to a safe temperature of 165 degrees.
  • Adding BBQ Sauce - Once the BBQ sauce is added to the chicken, watch it closely while cooking as it doesn't take long for the sauce to start to burn.
  • Other Cooking Methods - If you do not have a Blackstone grill, this recipe can easily be made in a large cast iron skillet on your stovetop or grill.
Variations Ideas
  • Spicy BBQ Chicken - Add chipotle or cayenne pepper to your sauce for amazing flavor.
  • Honey BBQ Chicken - Stir honey into your sauce for extra sweetness.
  • Add Smoke Flavor - Mix a bit of liquid smoke into your sauce. You can even cook the chicken on the grill for amazing flavor and grill marks.
  • BBQ Seasoning - To enhance the BBQ flavor, seasoned the chicken with BBQ Seasoning.
