Ingredients

  • 2 pounds Ground Beef 85/15
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Pepper
  • 12 slices Bacon
  • 3 Tablespoons Butter divided
  • 6 Eggs
  • 4 Lettuce Leaves
  • 6 slices American Cheese
  • 6 Hamburger Buns

Instructions

  • Preheat a grill over medium high heat (approximately 350-400 degrees F).
  • Divide the ground beef into 6 even balls (approximately ⅓ lb each). Then form them into patties.
  • Place the beef patties on the grill over direct heat.  Season the beef with the garlic salt and pepper.  Cook the patties for 3 minutes.  Flip the burgers and cook until burgers are cooked through (5-6 more minutes depending on how you like your beef cooked). Add a slice of the cheese to each burger patty and allow it to melt on the grill.
  • While the burgers are cooking, melt 1 1/2 tablespoon of butter over medium heat in a skillet or cast iron pan on the stovetop or over the grill.  When the butter is foaming, break the eggs into the pan.  Reduce the heat to a low setting. Cover the pan and cook until the egg whites are set and the yolk starts to firm up around the edges.
  • Cook the bacon based on the package instructions (stove top or microwave).
  • Use the remaining butter to butter the insides of the buns.  Place the buns, butter side down, on the grill for just a few minutes to toast the buns.
  • Remove the beef and add them to one of the toasted hamburger buns. Top each one with the lettuce, bacon and fried egg.  Enjoy!

Notes

You can store the leftover patties in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
Make sure to not use beef leaner than 85/15 for the best tasting burgers. You can also cook the burgers on a cast iron skillet on the stovetop.
