Grilled Teriyaki Shrimp

Grilled Teriyaki Shrimp is a quick and easy dinner idea that is loaded with flavor. Shrimp is threaded on wooden skewers and grilled to perfection.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Large Raw Shrimp peeled deveined, tails-on
  • 1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
  • Scallions thinly sliced for serving
  • Sesame Seeds for serving

For the Sauce:

  • 1/4 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Soy Sauce
  • 1/2 Lemon juiced
  • 2 teaspoon minced Garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon Ground Ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon Pepper
  • 1 Tablespoon Cornstarch
  • 1 Tablespoon Water

Instructions

  • Add all the sauce ingredients to a saucepan and thoroughly whisk to combine all the ingredients.
  • Heat over medium high heat until the mixture just starts to boil. Reduce the heat to medium low and cook at a low boil for a few minutes until the sauce thickens.
  • Remove half of the sauce to a separate bowl and set aside.
  • Stir the shrimp into the remaining sauce in the saucepan.
  • Soak the wooden skewers in water for at least 30 minutes while the shrimp marinades in the sauce.
  • Preheat a grill over medium high heat (approximately 400 degrees F). Rub the oil on the grates of the grill to keep the shrimp from sticking.
  • Thread the shrimp gently onto the wooden skewers.
  • Place the skewers directly on the hot grill and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until the shrimp are pink and cooked through.
  • Brush the shrimp with the reserved sauce.
  • Serve warm topped with the scallions and sesame seeds.  Enjoy!

Notes

Refrigerate the leftover shrimp in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
