Preheat the grill to medium-high heat (around 375°F to 400°F).
Rinse the tilapia fillets under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.
In a small bowl, mix together the avocado oil, lemon juice, garlic powder, paprika, and dried thyme. Brush this mixture over both sides of the tilapia fillets. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
