Ingredients

  • 12-20 pound Whole Turkey fully thawed
  • 1 Tablespoon Paprika
  • 2 teaspoons Garlic Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder
  • 1 Tablespoon Salt
  • ½ teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1 Apple quartered
  • 1 Onion quartered
  • 1 Lemon sliced

Instructions

  • Pat the turkey dry with paper towels and place the turkey on a roasting pan or a baking sheet.
  • Preheat a smoker to 225 degrees F with a water pan.
  • In a small bowl, mix together the paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper.
  • Stuff the cavity of the turkey with the apples, onions and lemon.
  • Rub the seasoning mixture on the outside of the entire turkey.
  • Place the entire pan with the turkey in the smoker.  Smoke the turkey for approximately 20-30 minutes per pound until the thickest part of the turkey reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Once the turkey has reached the internal temperature of 165 degrees F, remove it from the smoker.  Genty cover it with foil and let the turkey rest for 15-20 minutes.
  • Then the turkey is ready to slice, serve and enjoy!
