  • In a bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, dark brown sugar, vegetable oil, minced garlic, ground ginger, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. Add crushed red pepper flakes if using.
  • Place the chicken pieces in a Ziploc bag or shallow dish.
  • Pour the marinade over the chicken, ensuring all pieces are well coated. 4. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or up to 8 hours for more flavor.
  • When ready to cook, remove the chicken from the marinade and discard the remaining liquid. Cook the chicken as desired.

Notes

It's recommended to discard the used marinade or boil it for several minutes if you plan to use it as a sauce to eliminate any potential bacteria from the raw chicken.
Can marinate from 1-8 hours.
