- 2 lb Chicken Drumsticks
- 2 Tbsp Oil
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1/2 tsp Pepper
- 1 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1 tsp Chili Powder
- 1 tsp Onion Powder
- ½ cup Barbecue Sauce
Preheat a Blackstone grill over medium high heat to approximately 400 degrees F.
Mix the seasonings together in a small bowl.
Place the drumsticks in a large bowl, pour the oil on top and sprinkle the seasonings over the drumsticks. Toss to make sure that the drumsticks are thoroughly coated in the olive and the seasoning mixture.
Place the drumsticks on the Blackstone grill. Cook for approximately 10 minutes, rotating every 2 minutes to brown the skin on the drumsticks.
Reduce the heat to medium on the Blackstone grill. Then add a small amount of water to the grill and cover the drumsticks with a dome. Cook for 10-15 minutes flipping them halfway through the cook time until the chicken has an internal temperature of 175-180 degrees F.
Then remove the drumsticks from the grill. Baste them with the barbecue sauce with a basting brush. Then allow the chicken to rest for at least 5 minutes and then the chicken is ready to serve and enjoy!
If you do not have a dome, you can cook the drumsticks with the lid closed on medium high to finish cooking the drumsticks.
Use an instant-read meat thermometer to make sure that the chicken drumsticks are cooked to a safe temperature before eating. Chicken just needs to be cooked to 165 degrees F but we prefer to cook drumsticks longer to prevent any residual blood around the bones in the drumsticks.
Refrigerate the leftovers in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
Any oil with a high smoke point will work for this recipe. We love using avocado oil or coconut oil for this recipe.
