Divide the pizza dough into 2 equal pieces.
Roll out 1 of the pieces of the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface. Spread half of the pizza sauce on 1 side of the dough. Then layer half of the sliced pepperonis and half of the shredded cheese on top (just on half of the dough).
Carefully fold the pizza dough on top of the toppings and pitch the dough with the bottom half of the pizza dough to make a half moon shape.
Follow the process with the remaining dough and ingredients to prepare 2 calzones.
Preheat the Blackstone Grill over low heat (approximately 300 degrees F). Spread the avocado oil evenly onto the grill.
Sprinkle some garlic salt on top of the oil on the grill and then place the prepared calzones on top.
Watch the calzones closely as they cook. Flip them every 30 seconds to 1 minute so that they do not get too browned. Continue to rotate and flip them (closing the lid during the cook time) for 10-12 minutes until the calzone dough is cooked through and browned.
Remove the calzones from the grill. Let them sit for 10-15 minutes.
Then they are ready to cut in half and enjoy!
Refrigerate the leftovers in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
You can easily use any of your favorite toppings for the insides of this delicious calzone recipe.
