Blackstone Naan Bread

Ingredients

  • 2 ¼ teaspoons Active Dry Yeast 1 packet
  • 1 cup warm water 110 degrees F
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • ¼ cup Plain Greek Yogurt
  • 1 Large Egg room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 3 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • Vegetable Oil for cooking

Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl, stir together the activate dry yeast, warm water and sugar.  Set it aside to allow the yeast to active for a few minutes.  The mixture will start to foam. 
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour and salt.
  • Form a well into the middle of the flour mixture ing the bowl and add the egg into the well.  Beat in the egg and then mix in the greek yogurt.
  • Stir in the yeast mixture. Mix until all the ingredients are combined.
  • Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover it with plastic wrap and let it rise in a warm place until the dough has doubled in size.
  • Then shape the dough into 8 round balls. Place the balls on a baking sheet, top with a small amount of oil, cover and allow for them to rise for 30 minutes.
  • Preheat the Blackstone grill over medium high heat (approximately 350-400 degrees F).
  • While the grill is preheating, roll out the dough balls onto a floured surface until approximately 1/8 inch thick.
  • Spread the vegetable oil onto the Blackstone grill with a spatula. Then place the rolled out dough into the grill.
  • Cook for 2-3 minutes per side until the bread is golden brown and crispy on both sides.
  • Continue this process until all the dough balls are cooked.
  • Serve immediately while warm and enjoy!

Notes

Store the leftovers in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
