In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, ranch dressing mix, garlic powder, onion powder, and pepper. Mix well using your hands until the seasonings are evenly distributed throughout the meat.
Divide the meat mixture into 8 equal portions and shape each portion into a thin patty, about 1/4-inch thick.
Place about 2 tablespoons of crumbled bacon and 2 tablespoons of shredded cheddar cheese in the center of each of 4 patties. Top with the remaining 4 patties and seal the edges tightly to enclose the bacon and cheese. Gently press the patties to flatten them slightly.
Preheat a grill or cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat.
Cook the burgers for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach the desired level of
doneness. The internal temperature of the burgers should reach 160°F.
During the last minute of cooking, place the split hamburger buns cut-side down on the grill or skillet to toast lightly.
Assemble the burgers by placing each patty on a toasted bun and adding your desired toppings, such as lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, and mayonnaise.
