Ingredients
- Ground Beef – We like using high-quality beef as lean meat may cause the hamburgers to fall apart.
- Ranch Dressing Mix – You can use packet or make Homemade Ranch Dressing Mix

Variations Ideas
- Cheese – We added the shredded cheese to the center of the ground beef mixture. But you can also mix it into the beef mixture or add slices of cheddar cheese to the top of the burger patties. Other cheese options to try – gouda, parmesan cheese or pepper jack cheese.
- Seasoning – Feel free to change the seasoning to what you prefer. We love the ranch flavors but make it your own. You can even add in a tablespoon Worcestershire sauce for delicious flavors.
How to Make Crack Burgers
Step 1 – In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, ranch dressing mix, garlic powder, onion powder, and pepper. Mix well using your hands until the seasonings are evenly distributed throughout the meat.
Step 2 – Divide the meat mixture into 8 equal portions and shape each portion into a thin patty, about 1/4-inch thick.
Step 3 – Place about 2 tablespoons of crumbled bacon and 2 tablespoons of shredded cheddar cheese in the center of each of 4 patties. Top with the remaining 4 patties and seal the edges tightly to enclose the savory bacon and cheese. Gently press the patties to flatten them slightly.
Step 4 – Preheat a grill or cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the burgers for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach the desired level of doneness. The internal temperature of the burgers should reach 160°F.
- Step 5 – During the last minute of cooking, place the split hamburger buns cut-side down on the grill or skillet to toast lightly.
- Step 6 – Assemble the burgers by placing each patty on a toasted bun and adding your desired toppings, such as lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, and mayonnaise.
Recipe Tips
- Ground Beef Recommendation – For the juiciest and most flavorful burgers, use ground beef with a higher fat content, such as 80/20 or 85/15.
- Combining Ingredients – Avoid over mixing, as this can lead to tough burgers.
- Cooking Time – Grilling time will vary depending on the size of your beef patties and your grill. You can easily use a meat thermometer to ensure your burger is fully cooked.
