Wash the apples thoroughly and pat them dry. Cut into thick slices or wedges, about ½ to ¾ inch thick, removing the cores and seeds.
Place the apple slices in a bowl of water mixed with the lemon juice and let them soak for about 5 minutes. Drain and pat dry before grilling.
In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, honey, and cinnamon. Add the allspice if using.
Make sure your grill rack is clean and well-oiled. Preheat a gas or charcoal grill (or grill pan) to medium-high heat (400°F).
Lightly brush both sides of the apple slices with oil to prevent sticking. Place them directly on the grill and brush the tops with the honey-butter glaze.
Grill for about 4 minutes per side, until tender and caramelized with visible grill marks.
Brush with more glaze as they cook.
Remove from the grill, drizzle with extra honey, sprinkle with cinnamon, and top with chopped pecans if using. Serve warm and enjoy!
