Grilled Brussel Sprouts

These Grilled Brussels Sprouts are tender on the inside, crispy outside, and full of smoky flavor! They make a quick, healthy side dish perfect for any meal or backyard BBQ!

  • Preheat the grill over medium high heat (approximately 400 degrees F).  Cut the Brussel Sprouts in half.  Wash the Brussel sprouts and pat them dry.
  • Place the Brussel sprouts in a large mixing bowl.  Drizzle the olive oil on top and season them with the garlic powder, salt and pepper.  Toss the Brussel sprouts to coat them with the oil and seasonings.
  • Thread 4-5 Brussel sprout halves onto each metal skewer.  Make sure to keep the stems on the Brussel sprouts facing the same directions.
  • Place the skewers directly on the grill.  Grill for 4-5 minutes per side until the Brussel sprouts are tender.
  • Then serve immediately while warm and enjoy!

Notes

Use metal skewers for this recipe as the wood skewers are not strong enough to pierce the Brussel sprouts.  

Recipe Tips

  • Use Similar Size Sprouts - They’ll cook evenly and prevents the brussel sprouts from overcooking,
  • Don’t overcrowd the grill - Leave space for air circulation to ensure that all sides cook with the charred edges.
  • Try a Grill Basket - It makes flipping easier and prevents losing sprouts through the grates.

  • Honey Balsamic Brussels Sprouts - Drizzle with honey and balsamic vinegar before grilling.
  • Cheesy Brussels - Sprinkle shredded Parmesan in the last few minutes of grilling the brussels sprouts for a delicious variation.
