Ingredients

  • 2 cups Prepared Pancake Batter for 8 pancakes
  • 2 Tablespoons Syrup
  • 4 Pork Sausage Patties
  • 4 Large Eggs
  • ½ cup Water
  • 4 Slices American Cheese

Instructions

  • Preheat the Blackstone Grill over medium high heat (approximately 350 degrees F).
  • Prepare the pancake mix based on the package instructions or prepare a homemade mix.
  • Place the pork sausage patties on one side of the grill.  Smash the patties down while they are cooking to thin them out.  Cook them for 4-5 minutes per side until browned and cooked through.
  • Place a canning lid or an egg ring onto the grill and spray it with a non-stick cooking spray.  Crack an egg into the rings.  Then pour the water onto the grill around the rings and place a dome on top to steam the eggs.  Cover and cook for 2-3 minutes until the eggs are set.
  • Remove the sausage and eggs to a cool side of the grill while you prepare the pancakes.
  • Add the pancake batter to the griddle to form 8 small pancakes (approximately the size of the eggs).  Drizzle the syrup into the pancake batter.
  • Cook the pancakes for 1-2 minutes until bubbles start to appear on the top and the edges are set
  • Use a metal spatula to flip the pancakes and cook the opposite side until it’s golden brown (1-2 more minutes). Do not press done on the pancakes and do not flip the pancakes multiple times.
  • Then assemble the McGriddles.  Start with one pancake.  Top it with a slice of American cheese, topped with an egg, sausage patty and one more pancake.
  • Continue this process until all the McGriddles are assembled.
  • Serve immediately while warm and enjoy!

Notes

These are great to make ahead for the week.  Refrigerate the leftovers in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
You can easily use bacon instead of sausage in this recipe if you prefer.
