A McGriddle is a breakfast sandwich that is usually sold at McDonald’s for breakfast. Sausage, cheese, and egg is sandwiched between two fluffy pancakes.

How to Make a McGriddle indoors?

These McGriddles can be prepared indoors if you prefer. If I prepare them indoors, I usually multiple skillets so that everything is done about the same time.

I like to cook the sausage in a cast iron skillet as it will have the same texture as cooking on the griddle. Prepare the pancakes and cook in a skillet.

Then build your McGriddles with layers of cheese, sausage, egg with two pancakes. This is a hearty and delicious breakfaste.

Tips for Homemade McGriddles:

  • Meat Variation – You can easily use bacon instead of sausage in this recipe if you prefer.
  • Cooking Sausage – These sausage patties can easily be prepared ahead of time and reheated on the griddle. As I am cooking the patties, I like to season with salt and pepper over medium heat.
  • Eggs – To keep the round shape of the egg, we recommend cooking in a mason jar lid. But you can easily make a folded egg or a fried egg to top your McGriddle.
  • Pancake Batter – We like to make pancake batter from scratch, but you can use box pancake batter. Prepared ahead of time and then pour on the griddle for a delicious pancake.
  • Cooking Pancakes – Pour the pancake batter on the grill. Allow the pancake to cook on one side and then flip. Only flip pancake once and do not press on pancake.
