Ingredients

  • 2 pounds Boneless Chicken Thighs
  • 1 Tablespoon Vegetable Oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Pepper
  • 2/3 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1/4 cup Soy Sauce
  • 1/2 Lemon juiced
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Ground Ginger
  • 1/3 cup Water
  • 2 Tablespoons Cornstarch

Instructions

  • Coat the chicken thighs with vegetable oil and season them with salt and pepper (both sides).
  • Preheat a grill over medium high heat (approximately 350 degrees Fahrenheit).
  • Place the chicken on the grill over direct heat.  Grill for 3-5 minutes per side until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Remove the chicken from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes.
  • While the chicken is grilling, in a saucepan, mix together the sugar, soy sauce, lemon juice, garlic powder, pound ginger and water.
  • Bring the mixture to a boil and then reduce the heat to low and simmer for approximately 3 minutes.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of cold water.  Stir this mixture into the saucepan and heat for a few minutes until the sauce has thickened.
  • Brush the sauce onto the cooked chicken and then it’s ready to serve and enjoy!

Notes

Refrigerate the leftovers in an airtight container for up to 5-7 days.
