This Bacon Wrapped Burger is made with a juicy, cheesy inside with perfectly crisp bacon on the outside! We love to place patties on the grill to cook for that smoky flavor, but you can easily cook on an indoor grill or cast iron skillet.

Add your favorite condiments or top with BBQ Sauce for a twist on our classic Jucy Lucy burger recipe that everyone will love. This has become a weekend staple with our Grilled Sides because of the simple ingredients and this burger cooks in 15 minutes!

Ingredients

Ingredients - Ground Beef, Worcestershire Sauce, Garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt and pepper, cheese, bacon, olive oil, buns
  • Ground Beef – Substitute with Ground Turkey or Chicken
  • Worcestershire Sauce – See Homemade Worcestershire Sauce Recipe
  • Simple Spices – Garlic Powder, Onion Powder, Paprika, Salt and Pepper
  • Cheddar Cheese – You can leave out if you prefer
  • Bacon – We used classic cut of bacon
  • Olive Oil – Used oil of your choice
  • Brioche Buns – Make burger with any type of hamburger buns
  • Optional Toppings – lettuce tomato, red onion, pickles, ketchup, mustard

How to Make Bacon Wrapped Burger

Step 1 – Add the ground beef, Worcestershire Shire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper to a large bowl.

Step 2 – Mix the ingredients together without overworking the meat using either a sturdy spoon or your hands.

Step 3 – Divide the seasoned ground beef into 8 equal portions and flatten each portion into thin patties.

Step 4 – Weave together 4 slices of bacon and place one of the burger patty on top.  Place 2 pieces of cheddar cheese slices in the center of each patty.

Step 5 – Top with another patty on top of the cheese and pinch the edges together to seal, ensuring the cheese is completely enclosed within the meat.

Step 6 – Weave the strips of bacon around the patty and secure it to the patty with toothpicks. Continue this process until all of the patties are formed.

Step 7 – Brush the grill grates with olive oil to prevent sticking. Place the burgers on the grill.

Step 8 – Grill the burgers for 5-8 minutes on each side, or until the bacon is cooked through and crispy.  

Step 9 – Let the patties rest for 5 minutes before assembling and serving the burgers.  

Step 10 – Toast the buns on the grill for about 1-2 minutes.

Step 11 – Remove the toothpicks from the patties, assemble the burgers on the buns, adding your favorite toppings and burger buns and enjoy!

Recipe Notes

Make sure you seal the patties tight around the edges. It’s all about keeping that cheese locked in and contained as it melts.
I recommend using 80/20 blend of beef for the best burgers.

Yes, wrap the burgers individually with plastic wrap and aluminum foil. Then place in a freezer safe container for up to 3 months. Thaw in the fridge when ready to reheat.
