We love to top our cheeseburgers with the traditional ketchup, mustard and pickles. But adding bacon and cheddar takes our burgers to the ultimate burger status. Grilling the burgers on the grill is fast and easy and I can cook many at one time.

How to Make Bacon Cheeseburger on Blackstone Griddle:

  • Preheat the Blackstone Grill over medium high heat about 400 degrees.
  • Place bacon slices on the Blackstone Grill on one side and spread the oil out on the other side of the grill with a spatula.
  • Divide the ground beef into 6 even balls (approximately ⅓ lb each).
  • Place the ground beef on the Blackstone grill next to the bacon on the oil.
  • Press firmly on the ground beef balls into the Blackstone Grill.  Do not smash it all the way down but just press slightly to form patties.
Cooking burgers on the griddle with a burger press
  • Season the beef with the garlic salt and pepper.
  • Cook the patties for 3 minutes to 5 minutes.
  • While the beef is cooking, flip the bacon and add a bacon press on top if you have one (optional).
  • Flip the burgers and cook until burgers are cooked through (3-4 more minutes).
  • Remove bacon when it is to your desired crispiness. Place on a paper towel lined plate.
  • Add a slice of the cheese to each burger patty and heat until cheese is melted.
  • Remove the beef and add them to one of the toasted buns on a baking sheet. Top with two slices of bacon on the bottom bun. We like to toast our buns golden brown.
  • Then add your favorite burger toppings and enjoy. We love adding lettuce and tomatoes to the burger buns.

How Long do you Cook a Burger on Blackstone Griddle:

Cooking burgers on the Blackstone Griddle does not take long. Once you have prepared the meat and heated the Blackstone, place the hamburger balls on the griddle.

Press the balls with the hamburger press, gently. Once the burgers are flatten, let the burgers cook for about 3 to 4 minutes on each side until fully cook.

Can you Make this on the Stove?

Yes, you can make this on the stove. If you don’t have a Blackstone or the weather is to cold, cook the burgers inside. We recommend cooking the burgers in a cast iron skillet.

The burgers will come out similar to cooking them on the griddle.

Blackstone Cheeseburger Tips:

  • Change Oil – Use any oil with a high smoke point. Vegetable oil, canola oil, coconut oil or avocado oil will all work great in this recipe.
  • Change the Cheese – We used sharp cheddar cheese, but pepper jack cheese or provolone cheese would be amazing on this burger.
  • Bacon – You can use any flavor of bacon. They have smoked bacon, pepper bacon and even sweet bacon.
  • Barbecue Sauce – Add barbecue sauce to the burgers once they are cooked.

What to Serve with Cheeseburgers:

When we make these bacon burgers, we like to make sides that we can prepare directly on the griddle. This makes for an easy cleanup.

How to Store Leftovers:

Refrigerate any leftovers in an airtight container for up to 5 days.

How to Reheat:

When you are ready to serve your leftovers, place the burgers on a microwave safe plate and reheat. I usually reheat in 30 seconds intervals until thoroughly heated.
