Ingredients

  • Lean Ground Beef – You can also make with Ground Turkey
  • Oil – Use any cooking oil of choice
  • Hamburger Buns – This delicious burger can be served with brioche buns

Substitutions and Additions

  • Seasoning – We use a simple seasoning to mix in the ground beef. You can even add in some garlic powder for adding flavor.
  • Avocado – We love to enjoy slice avocado on the burger. But you can also top with guacamole on the burger instead of slice avocado.
  • Add Cheese – Add cheese to the burger for added flavor. You can add a slice of pepper jack cheese or cheddar cheese.

How to Make Avocado Bacon Burger on Blackstone Griddle

  • Step 1 – Preheat the Blackstone Grill over medium high heat (approximately 400 degrees F).
  • Step 2 – Place bacon slices on the Blackstone Grill on one side and spread the oil out on the other side of the grill with a spatula.
  • Step 3 – Divide the ground beef into 6 even balls (approximately ⅓ lb each).
  • Step 4 – Place the ground beef on the Blackstone grill on the oil.
  • Step 5 – Press firmly on the ground beef balls into the Blackstone Grill.  Do not smash it all the way down but just press slightly to form a thin patty.
  • Step 6 – Season the beef with salt and pepper.
  • Step 7 – Cook the patties for 3-5 minutes.
  • Step 8 – While the beef is cooking, flip the bacon and add a bacon press on top if you have one (optional).

  • Step 9 – Flip the burgers and cook until burgers are cooked through (3-4 more minutes).
  • Step 10 – Remove bacon when it is to your desired crispiness. Place on a paper towel lined plate.
  • Step 11 – Add a lettuce leaf and onions  to the bottom bun of each bun.  
  • Step 12 – Remove the beef and add them to each  of the hamburger buns on top of the lettuce.

  • Step 13 – Then top each patty with the tomatoes, bacon slices and avocado slices.  Serve warm and enjoy!  

Recipe Tips

  • Oil Variation – Use any oil with a high smoke point. Vegetable oil, canola oil, coconut oil or avocado oil will all work great in this recipe.
  • Cooking Burger – To ensure you have a juicy burger, cook the burgers on the griddle. Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature of the burger. We usually cook the burgers about 3 to 4 minutes on each side.
  • Placing burger on griddle – Use a burger press to slightly press the burger balls on the griddle.
  • Bacon – You can use any flavor of bacon. They have smoked bacon, pepper bacon and even sweet bacon.

Yes, you can make this on the stove. If you don’t have a Blackstone or the weather is to cold, cook the burgers inside. We recommend cooking the burgers in a cast iron skillet. The burgers will come out similar to cooking them on the griddle.

Store any leftovers in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 5 days.

How to Reheat Leftover Burgers

When you are ready to serve your leftovers, place the burgers on a microwave safe plate and reheat. I usually reheat in 30 seconds intervals until thoroughly heated.
