Ingredients

Ingredients needed - ground beef, oil, garlic salt, pepper, bacon, sharp cheddar cheese, bbq sauce, buns
  • Ground Beef – You can also use ground turkey
  • Oil – Use any type of high smoke point oil
  • Garlic Salt – We love the garlic flavor, you can substitute with garlic powder or kosher salt
  • Bacon – Any type of bacon. We have even used black pepper bacon for amazing flavor.
  • Sharp Cheddar Cheese – We used a white cheddar but any will work
  • Barbecue Sauce – Any BBQ Sauce will be delicious even tangy BBQ Sauce
  • Hamburger Buns – Use any bread or if want low carb, omit the buns.

How to Make BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger on Blackstone Griddle

  • Step 1 – Prepare Griddle – Preheat the Blackstone Grill over medium high heat (approximately 400 degrees F). 
  • Step 2 – Cook Bacon – Place bacon slices on the Blackstone Grill on one side and spread the oil out on the other side of the grill with a spatula.  
  • Step 3 – Form into balls – Divide the ground beef that is in a large bowl into 6 even loosely packed balls (approximately ⅓ lb each).  
  • Step 4 – Add beef to grill – Place the ground beef on the Blackstone grill next to the bacon on the oil.  
  • Step 5 – Press hamburger flat – Press firmly on the ground beef balls into the Blackstone Grill.  Do not smash it all the way down but just press slightly to form a burger patty. 
  • Step 6 – Season hamburger – Season the beef with the garlic salt and pepper. 
  • Step 7 – Grill the burger – Cook the patties for 3 minutes -5 minutes.

  • Step 8 – Continue cooking bacon – While the beef is cooking, flip the bacon and add a bacon press on top if you have one (optional).  
  • Step 9 – Flip Burgers – Flip the burgers and cook until burgers are cooked through (3-4 more minutes).
  • Step 10 – Remove bacon from grill – Remove bacon when it is to your desired crispiness. Place on a paper towel or parchment paper lined plate.
  • Step 11 – Add cheese to burger – Add a slice of the cheese to each burger patty.  
  • Step 12 – Prepare your Hamburger – Remove the beef and add them to one of the bottom bun. Top with two slices of bacon and evenly top each burger with the barbecue sauce.  
  • Step 13 – Serve and Enjoy – Then add your favorite burger toppings such as lettuce, tomato, mayonnaise and mustard and enjoy! Add your favorite onions rings or fries for a complete meal.

Expert Tips

  • Change Oil – Use any oil with a high smoke point. Vegetable oil, canola oil, coconut oil or avocado oil will all work great in this recipe.
  • Change the Cheese – We used sharp cheddar cheese, but pepper jack cheese or provolone cheese would be amazing on this burger.
  • Barbecue Sauce – You can use different flavors of BBQ sauce to add spice, sweetness or tanginess to your burger.

You will start by preheating your Blackstone Griddle and oil the griddle so the meat doesn’t stick. Then roll the hamburger into balls. Once the griddle is heated and oiled, then smash the burgers with a bacon press to flatten out the hamburger balls.
Seasoning the hamburger patties with salt, pepper and garlic. Cook the patty for about 4 minutes each side. You can then add cheese after flipping the burger. Continue until all hamburger has been cooked. Then assemble your burgers with your favorite toppings.
