Step 6 – Place the chicken on the Blackstone grill on top of the oil.  Cook for 4-6 minutes until browned. Flip the chicken, cook for 5-6 more minutes until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees F with a meat thermometer.

  • Step 7 – Remove the chicken from the grill and allow chicken rest to sit for 10 minutes.  Serve warm and enjoy!

Recipe Tips

  • Prepare Chicken – We recommend slicing the chicken about the same size so that it cooks evenly and about the same time.
  • Cooking Time – When cooking chicken, we always recommend using a instant-read thermometer to ensure that the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees. Cooking time will vary depending on the size of your chicken.
  • Heat Blackstone – For the best sear, make sure to preheat the griddle and oil the flat top. You can also cook in a cast iron pan.

Variations Ideas

  • Change Chicken – Feel free to make this recipe with skinless chicken thighs or chicken tenders.
  • Spice Level – This Blackened Chicken Recipe has a hint of spice. But if you prefer to dial down the heat, you can omit the cayenne pepper. Add more if you prefer spicier. You can even use black pepper.

What to Serve with Blackened Chicken

Blackened Chicken makes a delicious weeknight meal. We love to serve with Blackstone Asparagus and Blackstone Potatoes as a complete meal idea. Everything cooks easily on the griddle which makes cleanup a breeze.

You can even slice the blackened chicken and serve it over pasta, salads or make Blackened Chicken Tacos. You can even serve it with your favorite dipping sauce.
