Blackstone Hamburger Hash Recipe:

Hamburger Hash is a budget friendly made easily on the Blackstone. This recipe is loaded with ground beef, onions, diced hashbrowns and simple seasoning.

This is the perfect meal to toss any leftover vegetables or meat. This recipe cooks fast on the griddle and is so flavorful. You can easily make this with different types of meat and vegetables.

In less than 15 minutes you can have a rich and hearty meal that the entire family will love. Add a side salad or top with cheese to complete this flavorful dish.

What is Hamburger Hash?

Hamburger hash gets its name because of it is usually a mixture of ground beef, leftover potatoes, onions and seasoning. Heat all the ingredients to make a hash. Some recipes even serve a egg over the top for added flavor.

  • Ground Beef 
  • Yellow Onion (diced) 
  • Vegetable Oil 
  • Frozen Diced Hashbrowns (32 oz bag) 
  • Water 
  • Garlic Powder 
  • Salt 
  • Pepper

How to Make Hamburger Hash on Blackstone: 

  • Step 1 – Preheat the Blackstone Grill over high heat (approximately 400 degrees F). 
  • Step 2 – Spread the vegetable oil onto the Blackstone Grill and spread it out with a spatula. 
  • Step 3 – Spread the hashbrown potatoes out onto the grill on the oil. Place in an even layer on one side of the grill.

  • Step 4 – Cook them for 10-15 minutes turning frequently until the potatoes are tender. 
  • Step 5 – Halfway through the cook time, add the water to the grill around the hashbrowns. Cover the hashbrowns to steam them until they are tender.

  • Step 6 – While the hashbrowns are cooking, place the ground beef and diced onion on the opposite side of the grill. Break ground beef up with a spatula and brown it. 
  • Step 7 – Season the beef with the garlic powder, salt and pepper.  Toss the beef mixture with the season mixture to coat the beef.

  • Step 8 – Then toss all the ingredients together on the blackstone grill.

Easy Additions and Variations:

  • Potatoes – You can use diced Russet potatoes in this recipe if you prefer.  Peel the potatoes and dice them into 1 inch pieces for this recipe.  
  • Add Bacon – Chop up some bacon add into the hash for added flavor.
  • Vegetables – Red or green peppers would be delicious added.
  • Change the Meat – Use ground turkey or ground sausage instead of beef.
  • Top with cheese – Melt cheese over the top.

  • 1 Pound Ground Beef
  • 1/2 Yellow Onion diced
  • 2 Tablespoons Vegetable Oil
  • 1 Bag Frozen Diced Hashbrowns 32 oz bag
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • ¼ teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Pepper

Instructions

  • Preheat the Blackstone Grill over high heat (approximately 400 degrees F).
  • Spread the vegetable oil onto the Blackstone Grill and spread it out with a spatula.
  • Spread the hashbrown potatoes out onto the grill on the oil in an even layer on one side of the grill.   • Season the beef with the garlic powder, salt and pepper.  Toss the beef mixture with the season mixture to coat the beef.
  • Then toss all the ingredients together on the blackstone grill.
  • Remove from heat, serve warm and enjoy!
