Ingredients

Ingredients - Pasta, shrimp, olive oil, butter, garlic cloves, spices, white wine, lemon chopped parsley
  • Linguine Pasta – Feel free to other types of pasta
  • Shrimp Large Prawns – Deveined and shells removed, tails off or on based on your preference
  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil – Use oil of your choice. We recommend using high smoke point oil. See Best Oil to Use on Blackstone
  • Butter – We like using unsalted butter
  • Cloves Garlic – Use minced garlic
  • Simple Spices – Salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes
  • Dry White Wine – If you prefer not to use wine, chicken broth is a great substitue
  • Lemon – Fresh lemon juice is best
  • Fresh Chopped Parsley – Add when serving

How to Make Shrimp Scampi on the Blackstone Griddle

Step 1 – Cook the linguine pasta to al dente based on the package instructions and reserve approximately 1 cup of the pasta water.

Step 2 – Preheat a Blackstone grill over medium high heat. Heat the olive oil and 2 tablespoons of the butter on the grill until the butter is melted.

Step 3 – Add the garlic to the pan and cook for 1 minute until you can start to smell the garlic.

Step 4 – Place shrimp on the griddle, season it with salt and pepper and cook it for 1-2 minutes on each side until the raw shrimp begins to turn pink.

Step 5 – Pour in the wine and red pepper flake over the shrimp.Toss and cook for about 1-2 minutes until the shrimp is cooked through and to allow the alcohol to cook off.

Step 6 – Top the shrimp with the remaining butter and lemon juice and heat until the butter is fully melted. 

Step 7 – Toss in the cooked pasta and pasta water.  Gently toss all the ingredients to coat the pasta in the sauce mixture.  

Step 8 – Serve topped with the fresh parsley, parmesan and enjoy!

Recipe Notes

​​Use a dry high quality white wine for this recipe. You can use a cooking wine or chicken broth if you prefer, but a good quality wine gives the best flavor.  
If you are sensitive to spice, reduce the amount of red pepper flakes in half, do not omit it entirely as it does add a ton of flavor to the scampi.
This recipe cooks fast so make sure to put all the ingredients out before cooking the recipe by the Blackstone grill. 
This is best served immediately but you can refrigerate any leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.

Yes, you can use frozen shrimp in this recipe but you will need to thaw it before placing on the Blackstone Griddle. You can even make this with pre-cooked shrimp.
