Variations Ideas

  • Change Meat – If you are not wanting to use shrimp, you can easily make this recipe with pork, chicken, or steak.
  • Oil Griddle – We used avocado oil, but you can use olive oil, butter or sesame oil to cook the shrimp in.
  • Garlic – We used minced garlic but you can use fresh ginger. The teriyaki mixture will still be delicious. Taste before adding to the shrimp to make sure the seasoning is the right combination.
  • Vegetables – Feel free to add vegetables while cooking this shrimp recipe. Add red bell pepper or chopped broccoli. I like to go ahead and chop in bite size pieces to easily serve. You can even add in Pineapple Chunks. You may also love this Shrimp and Broccoli Foil Packs.
  • Serving – I like to serve with different dipping sauces. Make Homemade Yum Yum Sauce for an easy dipping sauce.
  • Spicy – Add in red pepper flakes to this mixture for an extra kick to this recipe.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I Make on the Stovetop?

Yes, this teriyaki shrimp recipe cooks perfectly in a large skillet. It makes the perfect family dinners and one my favorite recipes to cook indoors. Just follow the recipe as it indicates but cook in a skillet or a griddle.

What is the Best Shrimp to Use?

The perfect shrimp to grill is the large, jumbo or colossal size shrimp. We buy the shrimp that is already peeled and deveined. But you can grill shrimp with the peel on.
When cooking shrimp on the Blackstone, always buy raw shrimp. You can also buy the frozen shrimp but make sure to thaw it before cooking on the griddle.
