How to Make Texas Roadhouse Steak
- Step 1 – Place all the Texas Roadhouse Steak seasoning ingredients, including a teaspoon of black pepper in a sealed Ziplock bag or empty spice jars.
- Step 2 – Seal the bag tightly and shake to combine all the ingredients. Add standard white sugar for a hint of sweetness. See Texas Roadhouse Steak Seasoning Blend Recipe to learn more.

- Step 3 – Then generously place steak seasoning mixture on each steak (front and back). Store leftover seasoning mixture in a mason jar in the pantry.
- Step 4 – Let the steak sit with the seasoning on it for at least 40 minutes at room temperature to marinate the steak.

- Step 5 – Preheat your grill to 400 degrees F.
- Step 6 – Spray the grill gates with oil or wipe them with oil. I use vegetable oil but olive oil or canola oil will work great well.
- Step 7 – Place steaks on a high heat grill and cook for 3-5 minutes depending on how you like your steak prepared.
- Step 8 – Flip the steak over and grill for an additional 3-5 minutes depending on how you like your steak prepared. It gives a nice char texture for the best steakhouse steak.
- Step 9 – Then remove the perfect steak from the grill and allow them to rest a minimum of 5 minutes before cutting or serving for the best tenderness.
Why Do You Put Butter on a Steak?
We love to put butter on the steak as it adds so much richness to the steak. It makes the steak tender while giving it so much flavor.
We like adding right as the steak is being taken off the grill.

What is the Best Steak to Grill?
The recipe is written for a sirloin steak but this rub can easily be used on your favorite cut of steak. We usually get ours from the butcher shop.
- Bone-In Ribeye
- T-Bones
- New York Strip
- Filet Mignon – Which is the most expensive cut of meat
- Porterhouse
How to Cook Steak Perfectly?
The best way to test for doneness is by inserting a meat thermometer into the thickest part of the steak.
- Rare – 120 degrees F – cool to warm center
- Medium Rare – 130 degrees F – warm
- Cooked Medium – 140 degrees F – hot pink
- Medium Well – 150 degrees F – mostly brown center
- Well Done – 160 degrees F – full brown in color

How to Store
