Ingredients - Shrimp, Olive oil, garlic cloves, habanero peppers, soy sauce, honey, ketchup, allspice, thyme, nutmeg, pepper, salt, lime
  • Shrimp – Use shrimp that has been peel, deveined with tails-on 
  • Olive Oil  – Feel free to use oil of your choice
  • Garlic Cloves – You can also use garlic powder or garlic salt
  • Habanero Peppers – Substitute with Scotch Bonnet Peppers. Make sure stem and seeds removed
  • Soy Sauce – Feel free to use coconut aminos for a gluten free option
  • Honey – Maple syrup can also be used for an easy substitute

  • Spicy – For a spicy tastes to this jerk seasonings, you can add in 1 tsp of cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes.
  • Cilantro Lime Shrimp Tacos – For a delicious twist on this spice blend, I like to add in fresh cilantro, fresh lime juice and top with red onion, fresh parsley and mango salsa.
  • Add Vegetables – Anytime I make this jerk shrimp in a pan, I like to add in leftover vegetables. Chopped bell peppers, broccoli, and slice mushrooms are a great addition to this Jamaican Jerk Shrimp Recipe.

How to Make Jerk Shrimp

Step 1 – Place all the homemade jerk seasonings marinade ingredients in a blender or food processor and blend on high until combined and smooth.

Step 2 – Place the shrimp in a large bowl or bag. Pour the marinade on top and make sure that the shrimp is completely covered in the marinade. Refrigerate and marinade for at least 20-60 minutes for the best flavor.

Step 3 – Soak wooden skewers while the shrimp is marinating so that they do not catch on fire while grilling.  Preheat the grill over medium high heat. Thread the shrimp onto the skewers.

Step 4 – Place the shrimp skewers in a single layer on the grill without overlapping. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side until the shrimp is pink and cooked through.  Then it’s ready to serve and enjoy!

  • Add Fresh Lime – You can top with extra fresh lime juice once it’s removed from the grill to add a little bit of extract tangiest if you prefer!
