Ingredients

Ingredients needed for Tortellini and Sausage - Avocado Oil, Ground Italian Sausage, Cheese Tortellini, Fresh Spinach, cherry tomatoes, red bell peppers, Italian salad Dressing, salt, dried oregano, parmesan cheese
  • Avocado Oil – Use any high smoke point oil such as extra virgin olive oil
  • Ground Italian Sausage – You can also use slice kielbasa or chicken sausage for an easy substitution
  • Cheese Tortellini  – Cook your favorite brand or flavor
  • Fresh Spinach, Cherry Tomatoes and Roasted Red Bell Peppers– Simple vegetable additions.
  • Italian Salad Dressing – Love the flavor it adds
  • Dried Oregano – Easily substitute with Italian Seasoning

How to Make Tortellini and Sausage on Blackstone 

  • Step 1 – Heat Griddle – Preheat the Blackstone Grill over medium heat (approximately 350 degrees Fahrenheit).  
  • Step 2 – Top with Oil – Drizzle the avocado oil or your favorite cooking oil onto the grill and spread it out with a spatula.

Step 3 – Cook Sausage – Add the ground sausage to the flat top grill.  Break up the sausage crumble and cook for 5-8 minutes until browned.

Step 4 – Add Tortellini on the Blackstone – Push the sausage to one side of the griddle.  Spread the tortellini pasta onto the other side of the grill.  Drizzle cold water over the pasta with a squeeze bottle to steam the tortellini.

Step 5 – Top with Cherry Tomatoes – Pour the halved cherry tomatoes over the pasta.  Season with the salt.

Step 6 – Combine Ingredients – Mix together the sausage, tortellini and cherry tomatoes.  Cook for 5-6 minutes (tossing frequently) until the tomatoes start to blister and the tortellini is heated through.  Cooking times will vary.

Step 7 – Add Vegetables – Add in the fresh spinach, roasted red bell peppers and the Italian dressing.  Cook and toss for 1-2 minutes until the spinach starts to wilt and the dressing is coating all the ingredients.

Step 8 – Add Oregano – Season with the dried oregano. Sprinkle with the shredded Parmesan Cheese.  Then remove from the grill.

  • Combine Ingredients – Everything can be cooked on the griddle at desired temperature. Cook until everything is heated thoroughly.

  • Sausage – We cooked crumbled sausage for this recipe. But you can also make this recipe with polska Kielbasa thinner slices. You can even use shredded chicken or sliced sausage. Add in chopped bacon for delicious flavor.
  • Vegetables – There are a variety of vegetables that can be added to this recipe. Add in fresh mushrooms, zucchini, asparagus, onion, squash or broccoli. We recommend using fresh vegetables.
  • Variety of Tortellini – Make this recipe with fresh tortellini and feel free to use cheese-filled tortellini or meat filled tortellini. You can even toss with cooked spaghetti noodles.

Instructions

  • Season with the dried oregano.
  • Top with the shredded Parmesan Cheese.  Then remove from the grill.
  • Serve immediately while warm and enjoy!
