  • Seasoning – We love making homemade fajita seasoning, but feel free to use your own. Toss the chicken with chili powder, paprika, black pepper and garlic powder.

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1 – Slice Vegetables – Slice the bell peppers and the onions and add them to a large mixing bowl.

Step 2 – Slice Chicken – Slice the chicken breasts and add them to the bowl as well.

Step 3 – Season Ingredients – Season the chicken and vegetables with the fajita seasoning.  Use a large spoon to coat the chicken and vegetables with the seasoning.

Step 4 – Divide Ingredients – Divide the chicken mixture between four 12×12 inch sheets of foil. Then wrap the foil tightly around the contents to form your foil packs.

  • Step 5 – Grill Foil Packets – Grill over high heat for about 8-10 minutes on each side. Cook until the chicken and peppers is cooked through (internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit).  
  • Step 6 – Carefully Open Packets – Make sure to be careful when opening the foil packets as steam will be released. 
  • Step 7 – Serve – Then the grilled chicken fajita mixture is ready to serve. With your favorite fajita toppings or over tortillas and enjoy.

If you prefer you can make this fajita foil pack in the oven. Tin foil dinners always make an easy dinner idea whether you cook in the oven or on the grill.

You can place the ingredients in the foil or make a sheet pan dinner. Place the foil packs on a baking sheet at 425 degrees. Cook for about 20 minutes until cooked through.

Make sure to use a meat thermometer to ensure internal temperature reaches 165 degrees.
