How to Make Pineapple Steak Marinade
Step 1 – In a medium bowl, whisk together pineapple juice, soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, and sesame oil until the sugar is dissolved.
Step 2 – Add minced garlic, grated ginger, red pepper flakes, green onions, and black pepper. Stir to combine.
Step 3 – Place your steak in a non-reactive dish or a large ziplock bag. Pour the marinade over the steak, making sure it’s evenly coated.

- Step 5 – Before cooking, remove the steak from the marinade and pat dry with paper towels.
- Step 6 – Discard the used marinade.
Expert Tips
- Marinating Beef – The fresh pineapple juice has enzymes that break down the meat and tenderize it, so don’t marinate it for more than 8 hours or it might get too mushy.
- Combining Marinade Ingredients – We like to combine the ingredients in a large bowl to ensure everything is combined. You can place your steaks in the bowl or marinade in a large zip lock bag. Any uncooked steak that comes in contact with the marinade, needs to be thrown out.
- Cooking Steak – Make sure to prepare your grill and preheat to a medium-high heat temperature. This will give the steak amazing texture and cooks it quick and easy. Use a meat thermometer to check internal temperature on how done you want your steak cooked. Cook time will vary depending on the cut of meat you use.
