Variations Ideas

  • Vegetables – This recipe is great with any types of vegetables. We usually use green bell peppers and red bell peppers. But you can add in yellow bell peppers, sliced mushrooms or sliced zucchini.
  • Oil – Olive oil is a great option, but you can also use canola oil, avocado oil or vegetable oil.
  • Seasoning – These flavorful vegetables do not need a lot of seasoning or sauce. But feel free to use what you prefer. We have added balsamic vinegar and Italian seasoning for a delicious variations.

Step by Step Instructions 

  • Step 1 – Preheat a grill over medium high heat until it reaches approximately 350 degrees Fahrenheit.  
  • Step 2 – Cut the peppers and onion into large pieces and remove the seeds from the peppers.

  • Step 3 – Add the cut onions and peppers to a mixing bowl.  Drizzle the olive oil on top.  Gently toss to coat them with oil.

  • Step 4 – Place the peppers directly in the grill grates on the grill.

  • Step 5 – Close the lid, cook for 3-5 minutes until the peppers are charred. 
  • Step 6 – Flip them over and cook the other side for an additional 3-5 minutes.

  • Step 7 – Remove the peppers from the grill.  Season with salt and pepper. Serve warm and enjoy!

  • Slice Vegetables – We recommend slicing the peppers and onions into strips to prevent from falling through the grill grates. Cut the about the same size so they cook about the same time.
  • Prepare Grill – Before placing the peppers and onions on the grill, make sure to heat grill to medium heat.
  • Grill Basket – If you prefer, you can also place the peppers and onions in a grill basket to cook on the grill.
