Expert Tips

  • Slicing Ribeye – If you can’t find pre-sliced ribeye, you can freeze the steak for about 30 minutes and then slice it thinly against the grain with a sharp knife.
  • Prepare Vegetables – To save time, we like to prepare the onions and peppers ahead of time. Make sure to cut in about the same size thickness so they cook evenly.
  • Cooking Time – Cooking time will vary depending on how thick you slice your meat. Continue to sauté the meat and vegetable as cooks tender.

Frequently Asked Questions

How to Make on Italian Beef Sandwiches Stovetop

Prepare your meat and vegetables as the recipe indicates. Then in a large skillet heat oil, we recommend using a cast iron skillet. Place the meat in the skillet to cook through. Then remove the meat and cook the vegetables until tender. Toast the buns in the oven and then layer the meat and vegetables for a delicious sandwich.

How to Store Leftover Italian Beef Sandwiches

Place the sandwiches in an airtight container. If storing the sandwiches longer than a day, then we recommend storing the meat and vegetable mixture separately to prevent the hoagie from getting soggy. This meat mixture will last about 3-4 days.

How to Reheat Steak and Vegetables

We usually reheat in the microwave for a quick sandwich. If you are reheating a lot of leftovers, then I recommend reheating in the oven.
