How to Make Cream Cheese Glaze
The Cream Cheese Glaze is a must when making these cinnamon swirl pancakes. It is made with simple ingredients and easy to make.
- Butter
- Softened Cream Cheese
- Powdered Sugar
- Vanilla Extract
- Milk
Combine the butter, cream cheese, powdered sugar and vanilla together until combined. Then slowly add in the milk. Depending on how thin or thick you want your glaze will depend on how much milk to add.
Once you have prepared the glaze, then drizzle on top of the pancakes for a delicious topping to these delicious pancakes. We find it best to put in a zip lock bag and cut one of the corners off to drizzle the glaze over the top.
If you have extra cream cheese glaze, just place in the refrigerator so you can use it again when you reheat your leftovers.
Recipe Tips
- Thick Pancake Batter – It’s best to use thick pancake batter for this recipe so that the cinnamon swirl will stay in the center of the pancakes.
- Don’t overmix batter – Make sure to not over mix the pancake batter. Mix just until the wet and dry ingredients are combined.
- Butter to room temperature – Make sure that the melted butter has cooled to room temperature so that it does not cook the eggs once they are mixed into the butter.
- Serve Immediately – We like to serve pancakes warm so the butter melts.
- Pancake Mix – We used a premade pancake mix, but you can made homemade pancakes from scratch.
- Cinnamon Sugar Swirl – When swirling the cinnamon into the pancake make sure to no go over the edge of the pancake. This causes the sugar to burn and it won’t look as eye pleasing.
- Cinnamon Glaze – The leftover cinnamon glaze can be refrigerated to use again if you have leftover pancake batter.
Blackstone Pancake Dispenser
We recommend using a Pancake Dispenser. It is much easier pouring the pancake batter on the flat top. We didn’t use it the first time making these pancakes, but we have recently purchased one and it worked much easier.
This ensures that the pancakes are evenly distributed on the griddle.
How do you Keep Pancakes from Sticking on a Griddle
To prevent your pancakes from sticking to the griddle, make sure that you have oiled the griddle properly. We use an oil that has a high smoke point such as vegetable oil. You can also use butter.
Also, make sure your griddle is heated with a high heat. This allows the pancakes to cook and not stick to the griddle. Since you are adding in a cinnamon swirl into your pancakes, it is extremely important to add butter to your griddle.
Cinnamon Roll Pancakes Topping Ideas

- Butter
- Maple Syrup

- Whipped Topping
