What causes Pancakes to rise?

In this recipe, we used a prepared pancake mix. Flour, baking powder and salt have a chemical leavening agent when mixed with flour allows the pancakes to rise. The pancake mix has all the dry ingredients including baking soda to all the pancakes to rise.

How to Make Cream Cheese Glaze

The Cream Cheese Glaze is a must when making these cinnamon swirl pancakes. It is made with simple ingredients and easy to make.

  • Butter
  • Softened Cream Cheese
  • Powdered Sugar
  • Vanilla Extract
  • Milk

Combine the butter, cream cheese, powdered sugar and vanilla together until combined. Then slowly add in the milk. Depending on how thin or thick you want your glaze will depend on how much milk to add.

Once you have prepared the glaze, then drizzle on top of the pancakes for a delicious topping to these delicious pancakes. We find it best to put in a zip lock bag and cut one of the corners off to drizzle the glaze over the top.

If you have extra cream cheese glaze, just place in the refrigerator so you can use it again when you reheat your leftovers.

Blackstone Pancake Dispenser

We recommend using a Pancake Dispenser. It is much easier pouring the pancake batter on the flat top. We didn’t use it the first time making these pancakes, but we have recently purchased one and it worked much easier.

This ensures that the pancakes are evenly distributed on the griddle.

What Temp Should Blackstone be at for Pancakes?

When preparing your griddle for cooking cinnamon roll pancakes, we recommend cooking them on medium heat to high heat. We like to cook the pancakes with the griddle temperature around 350 degrees.

Cooking the pancakes on a high heat prevents them from sticking to the griddle. Make sure to also butter the grates to ensure that you can easily flip the pancakes.

Can you Mix Pancakes ahead of time?

Yes, you can prepare the pancakes ahead of time but I would recommend waiting to put the cream cheese glaze on the top. If you prepare the cinnamon roll pancakes ahead of time, just heat them in the microwave for about 20 seconds and then serve.

Cinnamon Roll Pancake Tips

  • Thick Pancake Batter – It’s best to use thick pancake batter for this recipe so that the cinnamon swirl will stay in the center of the pancakes.
  • Don’t overmix batter – Make sure to not over mix the pancake batter. Mix just until the wet and dry ingredients are combined.
  • Butter to room temperature – Make sure that the melted butter has cooled to room temperature so that it does not cook the eggs once they are mixed into the butter.
  • Serve Immediately – We like to serve pancakes warm so the butter melts.
  • Pancake Mix – We used a premade pancake mix, but you can made homemade pancakes from scratch.
  • Cinnamon Sugar Swirl – When swirling the cinnamon into the pancake make sure to no go over the edge of the pancake. This causes the sugar to burn and it won’t look as eye pleasing.
  • Cinnamon Glaze – The leftover cinnamon glaze can be refrigerated to use again if you have leftover pancake batter.

How do you Keep Pancakes from Sticking on a Griddle:

To prevent your pancakes from sticking to the griddle, make sure that you have oiled the griddle properly. We use an oil that has a high smoke point such as vegetable oil. You can also use butter.

Also, make sure your griddle is heated with a high heat. This allows the pancakes to cook and not stick to the griddle. Since you are adding in a cinnamon swirl into your pancakes, it is extremely important to add butter to your griddle.

How to Store Leftovers

Refrigerate the leftover pancakes in an airtight container for up to 1 week.  Reheat in the microwave for 20-30 seconds.

You can even freeze your leftover cinnamon roll pancakes in a freezer safe container. They will last about a month. When you are ready to serve again, reheat in the microwave.

Easy Blackstone Cinnamon Roll Pancakes:

On the weekends, we love to make a special breakfast because we have more time in the morning. The Blackstone Griddle allows us to cook easily because of the large surface.

These Easy Cinnamon Roll Pancakes are always requested. I like to serve them with some scrambled eggs and bacon for a complete breakfast. These pancakes would also be great for a special Christmas Morning breakfast.

If it is to cold outside, then you can easily make these on your stove top or your indoor griddle. These delicious Cinnamon Roll Pancakes will be something you kids will remember. We love cinnamon roll pancakes and you will too.
