Blackstone Chocolate Chip Pancakes Recipe:

We love making breakfast foods on our Blackstone. We have made bacon, eggs, sausage and they have all turned out perfect. But these Blackstone Chocolate Chip Pancakes have now become a staple Saturday morning breakfast.

These pancakes are light and fluffy and the perfect amount of sweetness. These pancakes start by making an easy pancake recipe from scratch then add in chocolate chips. Then placing on the griddle to cook to perfection.

These step by step instructions will have you flipping your favorite pancakes in no time. Top them with powdered sugar, butter and syrup and you family will be coming back for more.  

Ingredients needed - flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, milk, egg, butter, vanilla, chocolate chips

Ingredients: 

  • All Purpose Flour 
  • Baking Powder 
  • Salt 
  • Sugar 
  • Milk 
  • Egg (beaten) 
  • Butter (melted and cooled) 
  • Vanilla Extract 
  • Chocolate Chips 

How to Make Chocolate Chip Pancakes on Blackstone Griddle: 

  • Step 1 – Combine Dry Ingredients – In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar until combined. 
  • Step 2 – Combine Wet Ingredients – Then stir in the milk, egg, butter and vanilla.  Mix until just combined.  The batter will be lumpy.

  • Step 3 – Stir in Chocolate Chips – Fold in the chocolate chips.  Then let the batter rest for approximately 5 minutes.

  • Step 4 – Heat Griddle – Preheat a Blackstone Grill over medium high heat (approximately 400 degrees F).  Rub melted butter on the grill to keep the pancakes from sticking to the grill.  
  • Step 5 – Pour pancake batter on grill – Pour the batter onto the grill in approximately ¼ cup measurements.  Gently spread the batter out some.

  • Step 6 – Cook Pancakes – Cook for 3-4 minutes until you see bubbles start to form and burst on top of the batter. 
  • Step 7 – Flip and Continue Cooking – Flip and cook the opposite side until golden brown.  Remove the pancakes from the grill to a plate.  Continue this process until all the batter is used.

  • Step 8 – Serve and Enjoy – Serve topped with your favorite toppings and enjoy.

How to Make on Stove Top:

These Chocolate Chip Pancakes are even delicious made on your skillet indoors. We love pancakes so make them indoors as well. On a electric skillet or on the stove top.

  • Prepare the pancake mix as indicated by mixing it in a large bowl.
  • Heat your skillet to medium heat and oil your skillet. You can also use a tablespoon of butter.
  • Allow the butter to melt and then place about ¼ cup of pancake batter on the skillet.
  • Once the pancake bubbles form then it is ready to flip.
  • Then continue cooking for a few minutes.
  • Serve and enjoy with your favorite toppings.

Substitutions and Additions:

  • Chocolate Chips – We used regular chocolate chips, but you can easily use mini chocolate chips or dark chocolate chips.
  • Make a Glaze – Add a glaze to the top of pancakes for amazing flavor.
  • Nuts – If you like chopped nuts in your cookies, then you will love them in this pancake recipe.

What Makes Pancake Fluffier?

When mixing the pancake ingredients, make sure not to overmix the batter. You want the batter to be thick which results in a fluffier pancake. When the pancake batter is thin, the pancakes are thinner.
