  • Chocolate Chips – We used regular chocolate chips, but you can easily use mini chocolate chips, semi-sweet chocolate chips or dark chocolate chips.
  • Make a Glaze – Add a glaze to the top of pancakes for amazing flavor.
  • Nuts – If you like chopped nuts in your cookies, then you will love them in this pancake recipe.
  • Milk – Use any type of milk such as almond milk or whole milk.

How to Make Chocolate Chip Pancakes on Blackstone Griddle

Step 1 – Combine Dry Ingredients – In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar until combined.

Step 2 – Combine Wet Ingredients – Then stir in the milk, large egg, butter and vanilla.  Mix until just combined.  The batter will have lumps.  Fold in the milk chocolate chips then let batter rest.

Step 3 – Prepare Griddle – Preheat a Blackstone Grill over medium high heat. Rub the griddle with melted butter. Pour the batter onto the grill in approximately ¼ cup measurements.

Step 4 – Cook Pancakes – Cook for 3-4 minutes until you see bubbles start to form and burst on top of the batter. Flip and cook the opposite side until golden brown.  Remove the pancakes from the grill to a plate.

  • Double Recipe – These pancakes are perfect to meal prep with. We like to double the recipe and place on a baking sheet then place in the freezer in a single layer. Then you can flash freeze the pancakes so you can take out the amount you need.
  • Cooking Pancakes – Cooking the pancakes on the griddle allows you to cook many pancakes at once. Cook both sides of the pancakes until fully cooked.

How to Make on Stove Top

These Chocolate Chip Pancakes are even delicious made on your skillet indoors. We love pancakes so make them indoors as well. On a electric skillet or on the stove top.

  • Prepare the pancake mix as indicated by mixing it in a large bowl.
  • Heat your skillet to medium heat and oil your skillet with nonstick cooking spray. You can also use a tablespoon of butter. Work in batches until all your batter is cooked.
  • Allow the unsalted butter to melt and then place about ¼ cup of pancake batter on the skillet.
  • Once the pancake bubbles form then it is ready to flip.
  • Then continue cooking for a few minutes.
  • Serve and enjoy with your favorite toppings.

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cup All Purpose Flour
  • 3 teaspoons Baking Powder
  • ½ teaspoon Salt
  • 2 Tablespoons Sugar
  • 1 ½ cup Milk
  • 1 Egg beaten
  • 3 Tablespoons Butter melted and cooled
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1 cup Chocolate Chips

Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar until combined.  Then stir in the milk, egg, butter and vanilla.  Mix until just combined.  The batter will be lumpy.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips.  Then let the batter rest for approximately 5 minutes.
  • Preheat a Blackstone Grill over medium high heat (approximately 400 degrees F).  Rub butter on the grill to keep the pancakes from sticking to the grill.
  • Pour the batter onto the grill in approximately ¼ cup measurements.  Gently spread the batter out some.
  • Cook for 3-4 minutes until you see bubbles start to form and burst on top of the batter.  Flip and cook the opposite side until golden brown.  Remove the pancakes from the grill to a plate.  Continue this process until all the batter is used.
  • Serve topped with your favorite toppings and enjoy!
