Variation Ideas

  • Marinade – You can easily marinade the pork steaks instead of using a dry rub. Feel free to make a marinade with apple juice, apple cider vinegar, soy sauce and honey.
  • Change the meat – This recipe can be made with different types of meat. Use these seasoning with chicken, beef steak, or pork tenderloin.
  • Seasoning Spice Rub – Feel free to change the seasoning to what you prefer. We have even added in red pepper flakes for an extra kick. For a hint of sweetness add in brown sugar.

How to Cook Pork Steak on the Grill

  • Step 1 – Heat Grill – Preheat a gas grill over low-medium heat. We recommend the temperature of the grill to be 300 degrees.  Clean the grill grates and rub with oil to keep the steaks from sticking to the grill.

Step 3 – Pat Dry – Pat the pork steak dry with paper towel. Then season both sides of the steaks with the seasoning mixture.

  • Step 4 – Add steaks to grill – Place the steaks on the grill and cook for 20-25 minutes per side.
  • Step 5 – Brush with BBQ Sauce – Brush both sides of the pork steak with barbecue sauce. Then cook for 5-6 more minutes per side until the sauce is caramelized. Cook the steaks reach an internal temperature of 140 degrees.
  • Step 6 – Remove Steak from Grill – Remove the steak from the grill.  Cover them with foil and let them rest for 10-15 minutes. The pork steaks should reach an internal temperature of 145 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Step 7 – Serve and enjoy – Then the pork steaks are ready to serve and enjoy. I love to season with salt and pepper before serving.

Recipe Tips

  • Preparing Steaks – Prepare the steaks by drying the steaks and then season the steaks with seasoning mixture. Make sure they are at room temperature before grilling.
  • Grill – Preheat the grill and oil the grill grates to prevent the steaks from sticking. We recommend on heating the grill on medium heat instead of high heat. Cooking steaks on high heat could possibly dry the steaks out.
  • Rest Steaks – After grilling the steaks allow the steaks to rest before slicing.
  • Instant-Read Thermometer – Use a meat thermometer to check the doneness of the steak before removing from the grill.

How Long do you Grill Pork Steaks

The length of time you grill the steaks is how done you prefer them. We recommend grilling the steaks for about 20 minutes on each side. Then brush with BBQ sauce and continue cooking.

This allows the steaks to get a caramelized texture after finish cooking.

We recommend using a meat thermometer to check internal temperature of the steak. The steak should be cooked to be about 145 degrees.

Serving Suggestions

When we make grilled pork steaks, we like to make out side dishes on the grill. These are some of our favorites to make on the grill.

  • Grilled Zucchini in Foil – Zucchini grilled in foil is a simple and easy side dish. It is great paired with many different meats. We love cooking our veggies in foil as it cooks the vegetables tender and tons of smoky flavor.
  • Grilled Mushrooms – I love this mushrooms recipe. The mushrooms are cooked directly on the grill with the skewers. These are the perfect mushrooms to serve over the top.
  • Grilled Sweet Potatoes – Sweet Potatoes are one of our favorite side dishes. This healthy vegetable cooks perfectly on the grill without a lot of work.
