  • Yellow Potatoes – Feel free to use other types of potatoes
  • Butter – We used unsalted butter
  • Dijon Mustard – You can also use yellow mustard
  • Salt and Black Pepper – Simple spices
  • Shredded Cheddar Cheese – We recommend using freshly shredded cheese
  • Chopped Chives – Optional topping

How to Make Ham and Potato Foil Packets

Step 1 – Preheat the grill over medium high heat (approximately 450 degrees F).

Step 2 – Cut 4 large pieces of heavy duty foil into approximately 12X12 inches and spray the foil into non-stick cooking spray.

Step 3 – In a large mixing bowl, add the melted butter, mustard, salt and pepper. Whisk until thoroughly combined.

Step 4 – Gently stir in the ham and diced potatoes until well coated.

Step 5 – Evenly divide the mixture into the center of each piece of foil. Fold up the edges of the foil around the food to create a closed seal packet.

Step 6 – Place the foil packets on the grill over direct medium heat.  Grill for 15-20 minutes (flipping halfway through the cook time) until the potatoes are fork tender.

Step 8 – Close the packets and allow them to sit for 5-10 minutes for the cheese to melt.
