  • Salt

Variations Ideas

  • Seasoning – Add in ¼ teaspoon smoked paprika or cayenne pepper for heat if you prefer.
  • Vegetables – Feel free to sneak in veggies in the chili sauce mixture. Bell peppers are always a great option.
  • Change Meat – Feel free to use ground turkey instead of ground beef if you prefer. You can also do a combination of both of you prefer.

Step 1 – In a large pot, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Drain any excess fat.

Step 2 – Add the finely chopped onion and minced garlic to the pot, sautéing until translucent.

Step 3 – Stir in the tomato sauce, kidney beans, chili powder, and cumin.

Step 4 – Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for about 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

How to Make Burger Patties

Step 1 – In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Optionally, add smoked paprika or cayenne pepper for additional flavor (heat).

Recipe Tips

  • Chili Consistency – If you prefer a thicker chili, you can simmer it for a longer period to reduce the liquid. For a thinner chili, you can add a bit more broth or tomato sauce. 
  • Cooking Hamburger Patties – Cook the patties on a large skillet over medium-high heat. You can also grill them or cook them on the Blackstone Griddle.
