How to Make Bacon Wrapped Pork Loin on the Grill

  • Step 1 – Preheat a grill over medium high heat (approximately 400 degrees F).

Step 2 – In a small bowl stir together the ketchup, brown sugar, onion powder, salt and pepper, oregano, and garlic powder.

Step 3 – Brush this sauce all over the pork loin and wrap the seasoned pork loin with the bacon slices making sure that each slice overlaps the previous slice.

Step 4 – Then place the thick cut bacon wrapped pork on a large piece of foil and secure it around the pork to make a foil pack.

Step 5 – Place the foil wrapped pork on the preheated grill and cook for 60-70 minutes until the pork reaches an internal temperature of 145 degrees F. Broil the pork loin to make the bacon crispy. Allow the pork to sit for 5-10 minutes (tented with foil). Then slice, serve and enjoy.

  • Pork Loin – Make sure to use a pork loin not a pork tenderloin for this recipe. 
  • Meat Thermometer – We use an instant-read meat thermometer to make sure that the pork is cooked to a safe temperature before serving.  
  • Sauce – We used a made from scratch sauce to baste on the pork loin, but you can use a BBQ sauce or any sauce that you prefer.
  • Make Ahead – You can easily prepare this bacon wrapped pork loin a day in advance. Simply prepare as the recipe card indicates and place in the refrigerator. Set it out about 30 minutes prior to grilling to bring to room temperature.

How Long to Grill Pork Loin Wrapped in Bacon

When preparing to make Bacon Wrapped Pork Loin, preheat grill to about 400 degrees. Once temperature has been reach, place foil wrapped pork loin on grill. It will take about 60 minutes to cook pork loin.

We use an instant read meat thermometer to make sure that the pork is cooked to a safe temperature before serving.   

You can also bake the pork loin in the oven at 400 degrees F for 60-70 minutes until the pork reaches an internal temperature of 145 degrees F. After baking remove from oven and let rest for about 15 minutes to 20 minutes.
