What’s the Difference Between Pork Loin and Pork Tenderloin?
Pork Loin and Pork Tenderloin have similar names but they are different cuts of meats.
- Pork Tenderloin – Is a long narrow cut of meat. It is boneless cut and comes from the muscle that runs along the backbone.
- Pork Loin – This cut of meat is wider and fatter than the pork tenderloin. It can be boneless or have bone-in.

- Pork Loin
- Cream Cheese, softened at room temperature
- Shredded Parmesan Cheese
- Spinach, chopped
- Dried Thyme Leaves
- Dried Oregano
- Salt
- Pepper
- Thick Cut Bacon
How to Cook a Stuffed Pork Loin Wrapped in Bacon:
- Prepare Grill – Preheat a grill over medium high heat (approximately 400 degrees F).
- Begin Preparing Pork Loin – Place the pork loin on a cutting board so that the longer sides of the loin are on your right and left.
- Cut Pork Loin – Cut the pork loin approximately ½ inch of the thickness from the top from right to left. Cut almost all the way through but do not cut all the way through -leave a hinge.
- Open up Pork Loin – Pull this portion of the pork opened so that it’s on your left. Then make another cut through the half of the thicker part of the pork loin (in the opposite direction) so that you can flip the other side open as well. This is to create a smaller pork to spread the cream cheese mixture onto the pork loin.
- Mix together Ingredients – In a mixing bowl, stir together the cream cheese, parmesan cheese, spinach, thyme, oregano, salt and pepper.
- Spread Mixture onto Pork – Spread this mixture onto the pork in a thin layer.
- Roll Pork – Then roll the pork tightly into a log.
- Place bacon around Pork – Wrap the pork log with the bacon slices making sure that each slice overlaps the previous slice. You may need to secure with toothpicks.
- Wrap in Foil – Then place the bacon wrapped pork on a large piece of foil and secure it around the pork to make a foil pack. Make seam side is down.
- Place on Grill – Place the foil wrapped pork on the preheated grill and cook for 60-70 minutes until the pork reaches an internal temperature of 145 degrees F.
- Remove Foil from Pork Loin – Carefully remove the foil from the pork loin. If the bacon is not fully browned, broil for 2-3 minutes rotating the pork loin halfway through the cook time.
- Rest, Slice and Enjoy – Allow the pork to sit for 5-10 minutes before slicing. Then the pork is ready to slice, serve and enjoy!
How Long does it take to Grill a Pork Loin Wrapped in Foil:
When preparing to make Stuffed Pork Loin, preheat grill to about degrees. Once temperature has been reach, place pork loin on grill. It will take about 60 minutes to cook pork loin.
We use an instant read meat thermometer to make sure that the pork is cooked to a safe temperature before serving.
How to Make Bacon Wrapped Stuff Pork Loin in Oven:
You can also bake the pork loin in the oven at 400 degrees F for 60-70 minutes until the pork reaches an internal temperature of 145 degrees F. Place prepared pork loin in a baking dish and bake.
You may need to turn your oven on broil for the last few minutes. This allows the bacon to get extra crispy.
