Can you Make Sloppy Joes on Blackstone?

Yes, you can make it on the griddle. The ground beef cooks and then top it with the ketchup based ingredients for a delicious dinner. Once the ground beef, it only takes a few minutes to heat and combine everything.

  • Ground Beef – You can also use Ground Turkey

Variations Ideas

  • Vegetables – This recipe is delicious with added vegetables. We have added in green bell pepper and red bell pepper for added flavor and texture.
  • Seasoning – Fresh vegetables are best, but if you are out you can easily use garlic powder or onion powder. Start with about a tablespoon of each, add more if needed.
  • Additions – For added flavor you can easily add ingredients to the sloppy joe sauce. We suggest Worcestershire Sauce or red wine vinegar. We usually start with about ½ tablespoon and add more to taste.

How to Make Sloppy Joe on Blackstone Griddle 

  • Step 1 – Preheat the Blackstone Grill over medium high heat (approximately 400 degrees F).

Step 2 – Brown the ground beef with the diced onion on the Blackstone grill over medium high heat until no longer pink and browned.

Step 3 – Stir in the minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until the garlic is aromatic.

Step 4 – In a small bowl, stir together the ketchup, brown sugar and mustard.  Top the beef with this mixture.  Stir well to combine all the ingredients.

Step 5 – Heat over medium high heat for 2-3 minutes.  

  • Step 6 – Place the hamburger buns on the grill and cook for 1-2 minutes to brown them slightly. 
  • Step 7 – Remove the buns from the grill and top with the sloppy joe mixture.
  • Step 8 – Serve warm and enjoy.

Recipe Tips

  • Ground Beef – If you prefer you make this recipe with ground turkey. You can also use half ground beef or half ground turkey.
  • Cooking – Make sure ground beef is cooked before adding the sloppy joe ingredients.
  • Combine Ingredients – We recommend combining the sloppy joes ingredients together in a small bowl. Then pour this mixture over the cook meat.

Can I Make this Indoors?

Yes, this sloppy joes recipe is perfect to make on your stovetop. Simple brown the ground beef and add in the other ingredients.

You can cook it on a griddle or in a cast iron skillet.
