Blackstone Equipment Needed:
Variations:
- Change the meat – We used ground beef in this recipe, but you can easily use ground turkey. Mix ground beef and ground turkey together for another option.
- Sloppy Joe Mixture – We love the sloppy joe mixture from scratch, but you can still use the can stuff.
- Change the Seasoning – For extra spice, add in a teaspoon of red pepper flakes for added flavor. Make sure to season with salt and pepper.
- Cheese – Feel free to use different types of cheese that you make the quesadillas with.
- Tortilla – We used flour tortilla in this recipe. But there are many different types of tortillas that you can use and that fits in with your diet.
What to Serve with Sloppy Joe Quesadillas:
These Sloppy Joe Quesadillas can be served with many different options. We love making Blackstone side dishes whenever we cook on the griddle.
These are some of our favorites:
- Blackstone Fried Potatoes – These Blackstone Fried Potatoes are easy to make and the first to disappear when we serve as a side dish. The potatoes are crispy on the outside but still have that soft and tender inside.
- Blackstone Corn on the Cob – Blackstone Grilled Corn on the Cob is a staple side dish that we have all summer long. The corn turns out perfect and full of flavor.
- Blackstone Brussel Sprouts – Brussel Sprouts on the Blackstone cook up perfectly. The edges are crispy but tender and flavorful. Even if you are not a fan of the tasty vegetables, cooking them on the griddle might change your mind.

Recipe Tips:
- Cook Quesadilla – When cooking the quesadilla, cook on the griddle over medium heat. This will give the tortilla a crispy texture and melt the cheese.
- Oil the Griddle – Make sure to oil the griddle to prevent the quesadilla from sticking and with a crispy texture.
- Leftover Ground Beef – This would be the perfect recipe to use up leftover ground beef. Just mix with the sloppy joe mixture for a quick lunch on the weekends.
- Cooking Quesadilla – It doesn’t take long for the tortilla to get crispy. Make sure you stay close by so you can flip the tortilla.
How to Store:
Refrigerate the leftovers in an airtight container for up to 4-5 days. These are great served leftover and you can reheat on the griddle or air fryer.
