What is Herb Grilled Salmon at Olive Garden?

The Herb Grilled Salmon is a very popular dish at Olive Garden. The Salmon is prepared with lemon, Italian Seasoning and brushed with olive oil. Allow the salmon to marinate to enhance the flavoring.

It is then Grilled to perfection. Allow the salmon to grill for about 15 to 30 minutes until it is fork flaky. Then serve the salmon topped with garlic fresh herb butter infused with fresh parsley.

Ingredients to make this recipe which includes salmon, lemon, spices, garlic and butter.

For the Salmon:

  • Salmon Filets with the skin on
  • Olive Oil
  • Lemon Zest
  • Italian Seasoning
  • Salt
  • Pepper

For the Garlic Herb Butter:

  • Unsalted Butter, softened at room temperature
  • Minced Garlic
  • Fresh Parsley, chopped

How to Make Herb Grilled Salmon

For the Grilled Salmon

Step 1 – Squeeze Fresh Lemon on Salmon – Place the salmon fillets on a large plate. Squeeze the lemon juice on top and around the salmon fillets.

Step 2 – Prepare Marinade – Then season the salmon with the salt, pepper and Italian seasoning. Rub the seasonings into the salmon well on both sides. Allow the salmon to marinade for 10-15 minutes.

Step 3 – Preheat Grill – Preheat the grill to 400 degrees F and rub some olive oil on the grill grates so that the salmon does not stick to the grill. You can also use vegetable oil.

Step 4 – Grill Salmon – Gently place the salmon on the grill, salmon fillets skin down and brush the easy side of the salmon with the oil. Close the lid and cook the salmon the salmon for 14-20 minutes until the salmon is flakey with a fork.

Step 5 – Combine Herb Butter Ingredients – Stir together all the ingredients in a small bowl.

Step 6 – Top the Salmon – Serve the salmon with the garlic butter on top and enjoy!

How will I know when the Salmon is done?

When grilling salmon, there are a few ways to determine if your Salmon is done.

  • Color – Check the Salmon for color. Salmon should be a orange-pink color when it is cooked.
  • Firm – Salmon should be firm to the touch.
  • Fork Test – Use a fork to check for doneness by inserting it in the salmon to see if it flakes easily.

Other ways to Cook Herb Salmon

  • Cast Iron Skillet – We love using out cast iron skillet. The salmon cooks perfectly and it turns out so flavorful.
  • Air Fryer – You can put your salmon in the air fryer for an easy weeknight meal.

How to Store Herb Grilled Salmon

Store the leftover salmon in an air tight container for up to 3 days. Salmon is great leftover and the perfect lunch the next day.

You can even shred the salmon and place it on a garden salad.

Ingredients

  • For the Salmon:
  • 4 Salmon Filets with the skin on
  • 4 tsp Olive Oil
  • 1 Lemon
  • 1 Tbsp Italian Seasoning
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Pepper
  • For the Garlic Herb Butter:
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter softened at room temperature
  • 2 tsp Minced Garlic
  • 1 tsp Fresh Parsley chopped

Instructions

  • For the Grilled Salmon:
  • Place 4 salmon filets on a large plate. Squeeze the juice from 1 lemon over the salmon. Season the salmon with 1 Tbsp Italian seasoning, 1 tsp salt, and ½ tsp pepper. Rub the seasonings into the salmon on both sides and let the salmon marinate for 10 to 15 minutes.
  • Preheat the grill to 400 degrees F. Rub 2 tsp olive oil on the grill grates so the salmon does not stick. Place the salmon on the grill skin side down and brush the tops of the salmon filets with the remaining 2 tsp olive oil.
  • Close the lid and cook the salmon the salmon for 14-20 minutes until the salmon is flakey with a fork.
  • For the Garlic Herb Butter:
  • In a small bowl, stir together ½ cup softened unsalted butter, 2 tsp minced garlic, and 1 tsp chopped fresh parsley.
  • Serve the salmon with the garlic butter on top and enjoy!
