How to Make Breakfast Burger on a Blackstone Griddle:

  • Step 1 – Heat Griddle – Preheat the Blackstone grill over medium high heat (approximately 350 degrees Fahrenheit).
  • Step 2 – Form Ground Beef Balls – While the grill is preheating, mix together the ground beef and sausage.  Then form into balls that are approximately ⅓ pound each.  Refrigerate until ready to cook.
  • Step 3 – Cook Bacon – Place the bacon on the grill and cook for 3-5 minutes per side until crispy.  Remove from the grill to a separate plate.
  • Step 4 – Melt Butter – Add the butter to the grill with the bacon grease and allow it to melt.
  • Step 5 – Add Hashbrowns – Add the shredded hash browns to the grill.  Put the hash browns into approximately 6 patties with each burger (approximately ½ cup each).
  • Step 6 – Cook Hashbrowns – Cook for approximately 5 minutes (without touching them). Gently lift one edge to check to see if they are browned. If browned, flip the hashbrowns and continue cooking for 4-6 minutes until the opposite side is browned.
  • Step 7 – Cool Hashbrowns – Push to a cooler side of the grill.
  • Step 8 – Cook Burgers – Add the burger balls to the grill.  Press them down with a large spatula or burger press until they are formed into patties.  Cook the patties for 3-5 minutes.  Flip the burgers and cook until burgers are cooked through (3-4 more minutes).
  • Step 9 – Top with Cheese – Add a slice of cheese on top of each burger patty.  Then push them to a cooler side of the grill

  • Step 10 – Toast Buns – Add the hamburger buns to the grill for 1 minute to toast them.  Remove from the grill.
  • Step 11 – Cook the Eggs – Add the eggs to the grill. Then cook egg sunny side up (4-5 minutes without flipping them).
  • Step 12 – Build Burgers – Then it’s time to build your burgers.  Add a patty to the bottom bun of each hamburger bun.  Top with the hash browns, sunny side up egg and 2 slices of bacon and season with salt and pepper.  Top with the top bun and the burgers are ready to serve and enjoy.

How Long to Cook Burgers:

Cook the burger balls over medium heat for about 3 to 5 minutes on each side. We recommend smashing the burger with a burger press. Top the burgers with a piece of parchment paper before pressing with burger press.

Make sure to flip the burgers to cook both sides.

Recipe Tips:

  • Prepare Griddle – Make sure to heat the griddle and adding oil before adding bacon. This allows for the ingredients to cook with the perfect texture.
  • Combining Meat Mixture – Combine the breakfast sausage and ground beef and form into balls. This creates a delicious burger that is full of flavor.
  • Cooking Ingredients – Cook the bacon, hashbrowns and burgers until they are fully cooked and have a crispy texture. Everything needs to be cook separately then you will build your burger.
  • Fried Eggs – Fry the eggs directly on the griddle for easy clean up. We love the flavor of the egg yolk on the burger. It gives it amazing flavor.

Substitutions Ideas:

  • Cast-Iron Skillet – Make the delicious recipe on a cast iron skillet if you do not have a griddle. You can also make it any type of skillet.
  • Burger Toppings – Feel free to add your favorite toppings to make this recipe. Top with onions, peppers, and cheddar cheese. You can use any type of sauce for delicious flavor. We love drizzling hot sauce right before serving.
  • Oil – We used melted butter to cook the ingredients, but you can also use avocado oil.
  • Burger Buns – Feel free to use different types of buns to cook this breakfast burger. Brioche buns is always a family favorite but we have used hamburger buns.

How to Store Leftovers:

These breakfast burgers are best served immediately. But you can meal prep some of the ingredients and store in the fridge. We recommend serving within 3 days.

If you prefer you can place the leftover burgers in the freezer for up to 3 months. This is a great way to enjoy burger a different ways.
