Why This Recipe Works
We love going to the Japanese Steakhouse and get their Hibachi Salmon. Now I can make hibachi style food at home easily and it saves me time and money. It only takes less than 15 minutes and you have a quick weeknight meal.
If you don’t have a Blackstone, this recipe can easily be made in a non-stick skillet or frying pan. My entire family loves this recipe.

How to Make Hibachi Salmon on Blackstone Griddle
- Step 1 – Preheat Grill – Preheat the Blackstone Griddle over medium high heat (400 degrees F).
- Step 2 – Combine Sauce Ingredients – Whisk the sauce ingredients together in a small mixing bowl.
- Step 3 – Add Oil to Grill – Spread the vegetable oil or olive oil onto the Blackstone grill. Use your spatula to spread it out on the grill.
- Step 4 – Add Salmon to Grill – Place the salmon filets on the grill on the cooking oil. Sear the salmon for approximately 4 minutes. You can patting dry the salmon with paper towels.
- Step 5 – Flip Salmon – Flip and then sear the other side of the salmon for 4-6 minutes as well until the salmon has a minimum internal temperature of 145 degrees F.
- Step 6 – Add sauce to Salmon. Pour the sauce over the salmon fillets and cook for approximately 1 minute.
- Step 7 – Remove Salmon – Remove the salmon from the grill. Squeeze the lemon juice on top and top with the sesame seeds.
- Step 8 – Serve and Enjoy – Let the salmon rest for 5 minutes. Then it’s ready to serve and enjoy!

- Preheat Griddle – Preheat the griddle to medium heat before placing the Salmon on the griddle.
- Oil Griddle – Before placing the Salmon on the Griddle make sure you oil the griddle. This prevents the salmon from sticking to the griddle.
- Cook thoroughly – Make sure your salmon reaches an internal temperature of 145 degrees before removing from the griddle.
- Flip Salmon Once – Make sure to only flip the salmon once.

How to Know When Salmon is Cooked
Cooking salmon on griddle doesn’t take long. But to ensure your salmon is thoroughly cook use an instant read meat thermometer.
A regular size salmon will be done about when cooked about 5 minutes on each side. Meat thermometer makes sure that the salmon is done. It is done when it reaches an internal temperature of 145 degrees.
Cooking time will vary based on the side of your flaky salmon, but it shouldn’t take more than 10 minutes to cook your salmon.
