How Long to Grill a Burger:

When you are ready to grill a burger, preheat the grill and oil the grates. Use any oil with a high smoke point. Vegetable oil, canola oil, coconut oil or avocado oil will all work great in this recipe.

Cooking time will vary but it will take about 6 minutes on each to grill the burgers. We recommend grilling the burgers on medium high heat.

We like to use an meat thermometer to make sure the burger is cooked thoroughly.

How to Assemble PB & J Burger Recipe:

After cooking the beef patties remove from the grill. We immediately top the burger with warmed peanut butter to allow it to melt on the burger.

Toast the buns and then place the burger topped with peanut butter on the bottom bun. Top the burger with jelly and place two slices of bacon on top. Place the top buns on the burger and serve.

How to Store Leftovers:

Refrigerate leftover patties in an airtight container for up to 5 days.

How to Cook Peanut Butter and Jam Burger on the Stove:

You can easily make this delicious burger indoors. We recommend using a cast iron skillet to cook the burgers. It gives the burger flavor and the results are a crispy texture but still juicy on the inside.

How to Cook Burger in the Oven:

This bacon burger can be cooked in the oven. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and place burger patties on a baking sheet. Bake the burgers for about 20 minutes and flip the burgers half way through the cooking time.

How do you know when Burgers are done:

We recommend using a meat thermometer to ensure your burger is done.

Here are the internal temperatures needed based on how you like your burgers prepared.

  • Rare Burgers – 125 degrees F
  • Medium-Rare Burgers – 135 degrees F
  • Medium Burgers – 145 degrees F
  • Well-Done Burgers – 160 degrees F

Tips for PB&J Burger:

  • Mixing Ground Beef – Be careful not to over-mix the beef or the burgers will be tough.  Just mix with your hands until just combined.
  • Variation – You can make a bacon cheeseburger and top it with PB&J for a delicious burger.
