How do you know when burger is cooked:

After preparing the burger patties place them on a heated grill. Make sure to oil the grates to prevent the patties from sticking.

Cooking time may vary, depending on how thick your hamburger is. Grill burgers for about 5 to 6 minutes on each side.

Make sure to use an internal meat thermometer to make sure your burger is cooked to your desired temperature.

Here are the internal temperatures needed based on how you like your juicy burgers prepared.

  • Medium-Rare Burgers – 135 degrees F
  • Medium Burgers – 145 degrees F

Pretzel Bun Burger Recipe Tips:

  • Caramelized Onions – We like to caramelize onions to cook on this pub burger. It adds so much flavor and cooks easily in the skillet. Add a can of beer to deglaze in the skillet.
  • Prepare the Grill – We recommend preheating the grill and oiling the grill grates. This helps to prevent the burger patties from sticking to the grill.
  • Mixing Ingredients – Be careful not to over-mix the beef or the burgers will be tough.  Just mix with your hands until just combined in a large bowl.
  • Meat Thermometer – Use an instant-read meat thermometer to make sure that the beef is cooked. The burger needs to cook to a safe temperature before eating.
  • Cooking the Patties – Cook the patties on the grill on medium high heat for the best results.
  • Prepare Vegetables – If we are adding slice tomatoes and onions, prepare them ahead of time by cutting with a sharp knife.
