Blackstone Fried Bologna is a great way to cook bologna to enjoy as a classic sandwich. The flavor is delicious and heats in just a few minutes.

We love using our griddle for Blackstone Recipes. Cooking bologna on the griddle give the edges a crispy texture and loaded with smoky flavor. Fried bologna sandwiches make the perfect weekend lunch.

We love making sandwich on the griddle. You must try out this Bacon Sandwich or a Salmon Sandwich.

I grew up eating a classic bologna sandwich with a potato chips. Now I make it for my kids but on the the Blackstone Griddle.

We love how delicious it taste and quick it cooks on the large flat surface. It is the best comfort food.

  • Thick Cut Bologna
  • Salt and Pepper (to taste)

For the full recipe, scroll to the bottom to see the recipe card.

Variations

  • Seasoning – Feel free to add more seasoning to the bologna other than the black pepper and kosher salt.
  • Beef Bologna – I usually just buy bologna in the sandwich meat section. But you can buy it in the deli and have them cut the slices thick.

Step by Step Instructions

  • Step 1 – Preheat a Blackstone Grill over medium high heat (approximately 400 degrees Fahrenheit).
  • Step 2 – Peel the outside red rings off the outside of each of the Bologna slices.
  • Step 3 – Cut an approximately one inch slice into the edge of the Bologna at 4 even places around the bologna slice.  Then cut a ½ inch slice in the center of the bologna slices.
  • Step 4 – Place the butter on the Blackstone Grill.  Spread it around with a spatula and allow it to melt.
  • Step 5 – Lay the bologna slices onto the grill and cook for 2-3 minutes until browned. Flip and cook the other side for 2-3 more minutes until browned.
  • Step 6 – Remove from heat.  Season with the salt and pepper.  Serve warm and enjoy!

Recipe Tips

  • Prepare Blackstone – For best results, we recommend preheated the Blackstone and spreading melted butter over the top. You can also use a high smoke point oil such as olive oil or vegetable oil.
  • Prepare Bologna – Cut slices into the bologna before heating on the griddle. This helps it to lay flat while cooking.
  • Cooking Time – Cooking time will vary, but watch closely as it only takes about 2 to 3 minutes on each side to cook.

How to Serve Fried Bologna

There is a variety of ways to serve this thick sliced fried baloney. We like to make sandwich with different types of bread. Try it on white bread, Texas Toast, sourdough bread or slice of bread.

Then add your favorite toppings and condiments. We like to make our sandwich with pickles, mustard, red onion and lettuce. Topped with yellow mustard, cheese, and mayonnaise.

How to Store Leftovers

Refrigerate the leftovers in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
