Blackstone Steak and Potatoes Recipe:
We make a lot of recipes on our Blackstone but steak and potatoes on Blackstone griddle is my family’s favorite. Simple steak bites are combined with diced potatoes and mixed with a simple seasoning.
The potatoes and steak are cooked tender leaving them tasting so delicious. The garlic butter coats the potatoes and steak bites giving them so much flavor.
This is the perfect weeknight dinner as dinner is done within 20 minutes.

Ingredients:
- Steak, diced into 1 inch pieces
- Unsalted Butter
- Garlic Powder
- New Potatoes, diced into bite size pieces
- Oil
- Salt
- Black Pepper
- Water
How to Make Steak and Potatoes on Blackstone:
- Step 1 – Preheat the Blackstone grill over high heat (approximately 400 degrees F).
- Step 2 – Place the diced potatoes in 1 bowl and the diced steak in a separate bowl.
- Step 3 – Pour ½ teaspoon of the oil into each bowl.
- Step 4 – Then season both with half of the garlic powder, salt and pepper. Toss each bowl separately with a large spoon to thoroughly coat the steak and potatoes with the oil and seasoning mixture.
- Step 5 – Spread the remaining oil onto the Blackstone grill and spread it out with a spatula. Spread the potatoes out onto the grill in a single layer. Squirt some water onto the potatoes and cover it with a dome or the lid on the Blackstone grill.
- Step 6 – Cook the potatoes for 405 minutes. Then toss the potatoes, squirt more water onto the potatoes, cover and cook for 4-5 more minutes. Continue this process until the potatoes are fork tender.
- Step 7 – Then add the steak to the Blackstone grill. Let the steak sear for 2-3 minutes to brown the steak. Then toss the steak for 2-3 minutes until it’s cooked to the preference that you prefer.
- Step 8 – Remove the lid from the potatoes. Add the butter to the Blackstone grill in between the steak and potatoes. Let the butter melt slightly and then toss the potatoes and steak with the butter to coat them with the butter mixture.
- Step 9 – Remove from the grill. Serve immediately while warm and enjoy!

How to Make Steak and Potatoes on Stovetop:
If you do not have a Blackstone Griddle or the it is to cold outside, this is still a delicious meal that will cook perfectly in a cast iron skillet.
- Prepare your potatoes by peeling and dicing them about the same size.
- Cut your steak into bite size pieces.
- Preheat cast iron skillet with oil over medium high heat.
- Cook potatoes until tender. This will take about 6 minutes.
- Remove potatoes from the skillet, then cook the steak bites.
- Once the steak is cooked, then add potatoes back in skillet and season.
- Serve and enjoy

Seasoning Variations:
- Garlic – We used garlic powder, but you can use fresh garlic or garlic salt.
- Italian Seasoning – Use Italian Seasoning for added flavor.
- Season Salt – I love using season salt as it is a blend of many spices and works perfectly with steak and potatoes.

Recipe Tips:
- Oil – Any oil with a high smoke point will work great for this recipe. We love using vegetable oil, canola oil, coconut oil or avocado oil in this recipe.
- Cutting potatoes and steak – Make sure to cut the steak and potatoes about the same size. This ensure that they are done about the same time.
- Cover the Potatoes – To help cook the potatoes, we recommend covering the a dome designed for the Blackstone.
