Teriyaki Salmon Bites is a family favorite meal idea because of how easy it cooks on the griddle and is packed with protein, fatty acids and Omega-3s. The salmon cooks with the crispy edges, tender and flaky center. Adding the teriyaki sauce takes the salmon to the next level and for the best dinner idea or to meal prep with.

We love cooking on the Blackstone Griddle but you can even cook in a air fryer basket for the best air fryer teriyaki salmon bites.

Ingredients

Ingredients - Salmon, vegetable oil, green onions, sesame seeds, soy sauce, brown sugar, mirin, minced garlic, ginger, cornstarch, sesame oil
  • Salmon Fillets – You can use fresh or frozen Salmon. Remove the skin and cut into 1 1/2-inch cubes. Make sure to thaw salmon completely before cooking
  • Vegetable Oil – Use oil of your choice such as olive oil or avocado oil
  • Soy Sauce – If you are out, see Soy Sauce Substitutes
  • Brown Sugar – Learn How to Make Homemade Brown Sugar. If you are out, you can substitute with honey.
  • Minced Garlic – Learn How to Mince Garlic

Seasoning Ideas

Feel free to change or add in additional ingredients to the teriyaki sauce. Here are some of our favorite.

  • Red Pepper Flakes – This gives a hint of spice to the sauce
  • Rice Vinegar – Gives the teriyaki sauce a tangy flavor
  • Lime Juice – You can also use lemon juice

How to Make Teriyaki Salmon Bites

Step 1 – In a small saucepan, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, mirin, water, garlic, ginger, and sesame oil. Simmer over medium heat until sugar dissolves.

Step 2 – Mix cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of cold water to make a slurry. Whisk into the sauce and simmer until thickened, about 1-2 minutes. Set aside.

Step 3 – Cut salmon into 1 1/2-inch cubes, pat dry with paper towels. Preheat Blackstone to medium-high heat. Oil the surface lightly.

Step 4 – Place salmon filet pieces on the griddle, leaving space between each piece. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the bottom starts to caramelize.

Step 5 – Flip once and brush with teriyaki sauce. Cook another 2-3 minutes until salmon is just cooked through.

Step 6 – Transfer to a serving plate, brush with additional sauce to, and garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds. You can also place in a large bowl and toss the bites with the sauce. Enjoy!

  • Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.
  • Place the prepare salmon bites in the skillet and cook both sides for about 5 minutes.
  • Brush the Teriyaki Glaze over the cooked Salmon Bites.
  • Serve topped with sesame seeds and green onions.

You can also cook in the air fryer at 400 degrees for about 5-7 minutes on each side. We recommend lining air fryer basket with parchment paper or cooking spray to prevent salmon from sticking.
