Step 5 – Divide the ground chicken and onions into 4 equal piles on the grill. Immediately top each pile with 2 slices of cheese and let the cheese melt (1-2 minutes) for a delicious cheesy sauce mixture.

Tips for Success

  • Cook chicken on high heat so it browns instead of steaming
  • Break up ground chicken well for the best texture
  • Toast rolls on the griddle for better flavor and less sogginess
  • Add cheese directly on the meat so it melts evenly

Variations Ideas

  • Seasoning – Feel free to change the spices to what you prefer. We have even used Italian Seasoning for a delicious variations.
  • Change Meat – Ground chicken is a great option because cooks quick and easy but feel free to use ground beef or a meat of your choice.
  • Toppings – Add your favorite toppings for even more flavor. We suggest slice tomato, more onions and chopped lettuce.
  • Sub Roll – Having the right hoagie really makes this Cheesesteak even better. We like to use a roll that is big and chewy such as a Kaiser Roll or Italian Hoagie. We like to get them from our local bakery.
